I miss everyone I used to talk to freshman year. Kevin, Healy, Kasia, Katy, Ja(i)m(i)es B & K, Ed, the girls I sat with at lunch second semester, Jenna T, Matt Bentel Sean Bariball, Brooke Oveson, Mike Barry (who recently solicited me for band promotion; what the fuck?), even Eric Quinn before he got all snooty and pretentious and full of himself

Did we talk freshman year? I don't rememeber. I didn't talk to anyone until, like, spring break of that year. I was shy. Weird concept, I know, but 'tis true.

I've got you in the middle school friend category.

Which makes me feel bad for not writing something like this for middle school peope! No, Payton was someone I talked to freshman year in band, and Dan Lin and Julia Anderson. Then Dan and Julia skyrocketed to top bands, and Payton and I just didn't have band together anymore, though we sitll talked when we got the chance.

When I said asshole, I more meant "someone who lets a good thing slip away." I took friendships for granted, didn't really try to build on them, just knew "these are my friends, la-di-da." I don't really know how to put it very well. I mean, I could DEFINITELY construct a stream-of-consciousness poem that would give you an idea of what I mean, but who wants to read that? So I said asshole instead. I think putting the stuff about Eric last was a poor choice, because it colored the next sentence negatively. Oops. Well, that's alright. I tend not to edit when inebriated.

Y'know, this would scare me, but I realized, in my heart of hearts, I'd do the same exact thing.

I guess it's really just the people from high school, and the simplicity of friendships. I mean, Jaime Bass and I were the only ones who had had sex for most of high school, that's a big thing right there.

And that's true, because real friends can put up with the emo shit that usually goes on here.

so i hope you realize, in your heart of hearts, that despite the fact that i've only known you for...less than a day.?. i'd consider you a friend.
(or someone that has yet to show any sign of not being worthy of friendship anyhow)
....but we'll see how that goes now won't we?
