Arriving on new lands

Remind me never to do that again. First, that blasted Kracken, now this. I'm telling you, mates... This is either the most vivid dream I've ever had, or I've managed to get so drunk that I'm seeing things of the 'imagined' sort. Meaning, of course, that this could not possibly be happening because the situation I am presently in could not possibly ( Read more... )

Ship as in the kind of ship you sail on the ocean? You're not gonna find that around here.

Lucky for you, there is rum.

...why the hell do you look a litte familiar?

...Not even a little boat? And I just got my ship back, too.

That's because I'm Captain Jack Sparrow, mate! Of course you must've heard of me!

Eh, I guess you could put a boat on the river. Otherwise, you could steal a bus and make it look like a boat.

...maybe.

First thing's first, here. Just what, exactly, is a bus?

...so you're telling me you met a...whatever a "kraken" is...and now you're either drunk or dreaming.

...great.

Ah, but was there something wrong with either of those scenarios?

You may, of course, be drunk enough to be hallucinating, but perhaps you're imagining that you're drunk to help you cope with a situation that seems unreal in your situation? In that case, this impossible situation is best considered possible and real lest it turn out that it is, in fact, very much real, and you end up having real consequences. Even should it not be real, it's a bit silly to make an unreal situation really uncomfortable, now isn't it?

Unless it's more a matter of having a choice between the real situation and a more ideal, yet imagined, situation, don't you agree? In that case, I'll take the drunken nap!

I don't know if I'd want an unreal situation, even more real than reality, if the worth of the unreality is less than the reality's, as often one inevitably finds oneself forcibly dragged back to the painful reality where the unreal things one had in the unreality are cherished and loved until they are most painfully removed.

Your name, sir?

I can't say I don't like the way your mind works, mate! That's Captain Jack Sparrow.

No no, I have a really simple explanation. You're nuts. We're the voices in your head. Hi!

Unless by voices, you mean a sort of inner conscience that I may or may not be ignoring at this very moment, then I'm afraid I'll have to inquire as to further details on the exact meaning of your previous statement. Savvy?

Voices. In your head. Not that hard.

See, if that's the case, there wouldn't be faces accompanying said voices, yes?
