i used to think the central valley was hot until i moved to the deep south. turns out it was just a certain kind of hot. 112 deg was easier to cope with when the humidity was in the single digits. now its near triple digits and the humidity at 70%. whatever fun time summer activities you usually do can not be enjoyed because the bugs are huge and in great numbers.
i'll switch you weather if you like. i'm more likely to go outside when the weather is mild anyway.
that sounds like my experience in FL. Especially with the humidity!
I guess its a weird thing to bitch about. I enjoy the sun when I can but never get that "hot" feeling. But I've noticed we all have individual desired weather patterns, some folks I know preffer to be where its freezing (fuck that, hard.)
Yes, lets trade. This, this will bring me much joy.
No, I know what you mean... I grew up in the SF fog belt, and when it was 105 degrees virtually everywhere else inland, I lived in a little pocket of constant wind, 55 degree temps and wet marine fog. Boo. To say I was jealous of people living places with "real" summer weather was an understatement. My sister felt the same way, and ended up moving to NY for, among other things, seasons.
Now that I'm currently experiencing "real summer" weather (it's 91 out here, maybe 10 degrees coolder inside)? Eh, it has its charm, and I love the warm evenings (it cools down way too fast at night by the ocean), but we're on day 3 of 90+ degree weather with no overnight cooling, and I am missing restful sleep more than anything. x.x And ironically, a cool foggy ocean breeze sounds great about now. The grass is always greener I guess!
I remember living in Berkeley for that short time, the entire summer went by and I felt like spring never left. It was nice then at the time after having been in the valley for so long. But I still missed my heatwaves.
Hope it cools down enough for you to sleep though!
