Once again stealing from apple_pathways, who puts up fun memes which I promptly steal, lol. But I love music and I love talking about music, so any excuse to go on and on about something I like without having to see my audience's eyes glaze over. :)

What song was #1 in the charts in your country when you were born?
According to the first result I got when I ( Read more... )

Oh, man! See, I knew basking in awesome with you was gonna be fun! I'll try to be coherent, but I have a lot of random thoughts I want to share:

Wolf Parade! Yay! You're the first other person I've met who is into them, and I HAVE to get their albums...do you own any? And particular one(s) you would recommend?

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is a band I'm aware of, and I know I've liked their songs, but I must know more. I'm putting them on my list of albums to track down.

I am also crazy into Halloween: I have a mix CD I made a couple years ago that we always play for the Trick of Treaters. When it gets closer to the holiday, we're going to have to compare Halloween tracks!

I ALSO love working out to Peaches! Such a weird coincidence...I do have to remind myself, though, not to sing along under my breath, because her songs are very not safe for the older ladies who work out when I do.

I have crazy love for the cover of Mad Love by Gary Jules; you're now making me doubt my choice for favorite cover! (And that song is very ( ... )

When isn't basking in awesome fun?

Re: Wolf Parade - I'm totally surprised that more people aren't into them! Apologies to the Queen Mary is the only one of their albums that I have, but I really like it. I've heard At Mount Zoomer is good and I've been meaning to download it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet ( ... )

My introduction to Peaches was actually through that YouTube video! I love it. :)

Yeah, Gary Jules's original music is...forgettable. In college (the first time around, that is) I had a friend who was obsessed with Donny Darko, and he bought Gary Jules's album off the strength of Mad World. Very disappointing!

I have a couple friends who like some of the same music I do; they're just not quite as obsessive about it. My BFF and I have a lot in common musically, but she leans more toward the mellow side, whereas I lean toward Indie Rock. She does share my love for anti-folk, though. (Though no one quite gets my obsession with alt country and classic country/folk music. And this thing I have for banjos...)
