Spock's World, Amok Time, and lulz.

Oct 26, 2009 09:05

I am currently reading Spock's World, by Diane Duane. She's a good authour. It's a good book.

I bring you lulz from pages 1-180 (where I am so far.) WITH GIFs. With wtf commentary.

My only issue with this book is pretty much how CREEPER every male comes off in it. REALLY. TRUST ME. CREEPER.

Especiallyyyy McCoy.

It IS a goood book! And it's LOADED with Vulcan history, OMGGGG. FF, the history is WILD. (And sex is reaaaallly epically phrased.)

He probably DOES do it just to make humans feel awkward. For the lulz.

DUDE! I read this! T'Pringles was a total bitch in "Amok Time" but she got elevated to complete twat status in this one.

And not for nothin', they really should have named the book, "McCoy Schools the Vulcans" rather than "Spock's World."

Re "naughty"...

I used it because at the time, I felt like it. And you know what? You'll do exactly the same kind of thing when you write your next novel. :)

So get busy. But don't stop with this in the meantime: it's fun. :)

Omfg. Omfg. Omfg. I freaked out when I saw this. No lies. Omg.

Did I mention the book is actually really awesome?

I was going to post part two like, this week, but I'm so terrified now.

(PS, up to page 277.)

Don't be freaking out. No point in that! (But it's always wise to remember that This Iz The Intarwebz, and whoever you're talking about may be lurking just under the next rock.) ;)

...And yes, I saw that you said you liked it. Which is cool! It was fun to write. But also, the last I heard, satire was a perfectly acceptable aspect of "fair use"... so you have no excuse not to get right back in there and have a party with the rest of the book. :)

So enjoy!

You're amazing. Ffff, I love you. Coolest author ever.

Spock's World was the first Trekkie novel I've read, and I intend to find more of your books after I'm done it.

Best. Day. Ever.
