today's is pretty long! it took up almost 2 pages!

Sorry that this is sooooo late but I had to do hmwk last night, I needed sleep, and their was a high probability of having a snow day today. For all that don’t know, a snow day is when there is sooo much snow that they cancel school for the day! So let’s start now recounting yesterday’s events, shall we?

First I want to talk about how ironic my bookmark is in my book. I always choose a different bookmark for each book series so I was reading Vampire Diaries and the first free thing I got was a prayer card to Our Lady (miraculous medal card), so that’s what I’ve been using. It’s really ironic because vampire and Mother Mary don’t mix at all! So I’ve been meaning to say that and I finally have!

When I left the house on time, it had already snowed over night so there was already a sizable amount on the ground. It was also still snowing and I don’t think I ever saw it not snowing during the day! Also, when I got to the Division street, I didn’t feel like waiting so I walked some of the way until the bus came. When I got to school, Dyllon was showing off his photos from his iphone that he had taken the day before. They were pretty cool and I’ll see if it is possible to post the pics.

Also, people were wondering if we would get out early because it was snowing sooo much. They forecasters were predicting doom so we figured we would. Sure enough, the news started going around while we went to our period 3 (first class) class that we were gonna go on assembly schedule and therefore getting out at 1:48. Also, on the announcements, they confirmed the rumor and said that anyone who needed to call home would be allowed to.

In Chorus, we continued working on the worksheet he gave us on Wednesday. A lot of my classmates had trouble so I had to help them which was kinda cool and fun. He told us only to do until the end of the exercise about the ascending and descending major scales with flat in the key signature. When I had finished that he allowed me to go to my locker for my cell phone. This was the first time I hadn’t needed to ask one of my classmates for a cell phone to borrow to call home! I was so excited!

In Algebra we went over Rational Exponent Operations and something about Annuity. One problem was to figure out how much money this person would have for college if his parent put in this sum of money, etc. Mr. A talked about scholarships and how a lot of money the government puts aside for college finds that isn’t used every year. He told us that when he heard that as a senior, he went out and applied to every scholarship he could apply to. As a result, he paid less tuition for Notre Dame then he did his senior year at our high school (he’s an alum of the school). That shocked me because he had as little money as I have and also went to Notre Dame, which is my #1 college at this point. Also, Notre Dame is 50,000 a year in tuition, and he said it’s still possible to spend as little money at Notre Dame as he did if you get enough scholarships. I’m definitely gonna do that net school year!

At the end of class, he gave us this worksheet to work on, that is due Tuesday, and it is the last hmwk assignment we will ever get for this class. And he also wanted a snow day just as much as we did.

Next was Amer. Lit, seeing as we were going 341 hmrm/lunch 2 yesterday. Mr. Helbig actually remembered to bring the quizzes so we had to take them. It was pretty easy. After that we talked a bit about what we had read the night before. We had to write in our journals about how they censor things in the classroom. It was an interesting discussion and I was the one who brought up the topic of how they treat us like we are little kids, which we are not. He also gave us 2 days worth of hmwk (Read Ch. 1 and 2 of Always Running) for in case we had a snow day, which you can tell did happen. At the end, I kept forgetting to put away my cell phone, which was still in my pocket.

Nothing noteworthy happened in homeroom, or at least that I could remember. All that happened was that Ms. Terry reminded me at lunch that I had a test to take in her class next period. When I got to internet class, we started studying and did that for about 30 mins. I didn’t think I’d remember it all so I made an impromptu cheat sheet that I ended up not using. It was sorta hard but it also had it’s easy parts to it. At the end she gave us a packet of codes that we are going to use for our final project, which is to build a webpage- from scratch!

So, as I was walking home, my hands were cold and I stuck them into my pockets. I was already a block away from school when I realized that my keys were missing and the keys they announce that morning, were mine! I ran back to school as fast as I could despite all the snow and ice. When I got to school and asked for the keys, I was clear out of breath. I got them back then left for the second time that day. But my bad luck didn’t stop there. When I got to the train station, my transit card wouldn’t work! I had to add a nickel, that I didn’t have, to my card to make it work again. Luckily, one of my friends gave me that nickel and I was able to go home.

When I got home, I told my mom about my struggles and she told me hers. After that I was dead tired so I crashed on my bed and slept until 6:30. While I was eating dinner, I watched Vampire Diaries the TV show. It’s very interesting how the book differs from the TV show. After that I did my hmwk and was finished by 10. At 9 though, I took a break to watch the news to see if they were still predicting doom for today. They were and I went back to my hmwk. When I finished, I prayed the rosary so that we could have a snow day. I said it as slow and as reverently as possible, and yet it still took me only about 25-30 mins., which shocked me. I also read 2 more chapter in Vampire Diaries, and I got to the part where they introduce Damon in modern times, I think. After that I went to sleep, only to be woken at 5 am by my mom saying we had a snow day. I’ll write about that tonight.
