This discovery spurred him on to create the ShinRa Electric Power Company, and through it, his dreams of controlling the world through money. He was once a fit, tough man, traveling the world to seek out new weapons and new forms of energy to power them. He is ruthless, cold, though not humorless-- it can be said, however, that many prefer it if he were humorless. He can be petty, but he is shrewd, smart in many ways, and calculated. His one weakness is his son, whom he takes great pleasure in tormenting, to make him "strong". He might have had a weak spot for his wife, but she is gone, and no one knows what he might have been like around her.
