Whenever I bring up the brilliant album Adore I always have to argue with some wayward naysayer.

I think your current mood should read "melancholy and infinitely sad."

One time I met a guy who insisted that they hadn't done anything worthwhile after Gish, but I somehow managed to refrain from smacking him.

Anyone who doesn't acknowledge that Adore is their best album is not really a Pumpkins fan.

Actually, I prefer Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, but Adore isn't far behind. What irks me are people who think that the Smashing Pumpkins didn't do anything meaningful after Siamese Dream. The music on Siamese Dream just lacks the breadth and complexity of the Pumpkins' later efforts (Machina excluded, of course).

The people who like Gish the best are just posers.
