Today, I taxied a middle-aged mom. She hopped into my cab and told me that she needed to run some errands while her daughter was getting registered for university. This reminds me of when my mom, as a teenager, went on a road trip from California to where my uncle was stationed in Missouri. There, they visited a church, and the pastor announced my grandpa was a minister. Afterward, a woman approached them and said, "Oh, you have churches in California now?" This was in the late 1960s...

I'm amazed at how people get these outrageous ideas in their head, and about their own country.
