My boobs are soooooooooo sore this morning. I am kind of worried I have some sort of infection or cloggeed duck. I have never had any problems before so I really am not sure. I think what started it is that Jolyève slept from 7:30p.m until 4:30am last night so by the time she got up my boobs were killing me and I was soaking wet! She ate well but ( Read more... )

Hi Mel! Sorry you're having boob trouble. You're right, it probably is because she's sleeping more and nursing less. Mine always go crazy too under those circumstances ( ... )

I just went back and re-read your post about why you don't want to pump. I think you're right to want to adjust your supply, but it's more important to keep you from getting an infection, so PUMP, PUMP, PUMP! :p

Thanks Julie!

I was hoping you would see my post and guve me some tips....O tried the shower and no luck. I do hace chills and feel like I should just be under the covers...ya right! :-) like I have time for that:-)))

I checked and there is a red spot (or maybe it's just from me rubbing so hard). I will try another shower once she goes down for her afternoon nap. I hope I'm not getting a mastitis is doesn't sound like much fun. Is that something I should see the doctor for?

Like I mentioned before we don't have a LLL group down here so I really have no one to turn too with my breastfeeding concerns or questions...Thank god I have my friends here.:-)

Is the red spot right where it hurts? Are you sore in one spot in particular, or are you just uncomfortable overall? If you do have mastitis, you'll want to call the doctor, who will probably want to put you on antibiotics. I've had it twice and only took something once, the other time I just let it run its course. I'd say wait and see, if you start feeling really sick, call the doctor. Otherwise, just keep trying to rub that spot out and you should start feeling better. Maybe not today, but by tomorrow hopefully.

Do you know Marisa (from here and the BF thread over at WC)? She's training to become a lactation consultant and she's a great source of information. I'm going to "introduce you" so you can be on each other's friends list and she'll see your posts too.

Hang in there!

The red spot is about the size of my htumb (like the end of it) it hurts in that area not necessarily that exact spot. Altough that spot hurts too. Like all the left side (under my arm) of my lft breast is sore. I took another shower and massage like crazy...Then took a tylenol and slept for 1 hour...I just woke and it still hurts. I really hope it clears up soon. :-((((

Thank you so much for your help. Maybe i'll try posting in breasfeeding thread on WC.
