All plans sound awesome, school and starting to get a plan together for surgery especially. Your decisions on who to tell make perfect sense. I would find it hardest to tell people I'm not close to, anything important to me as well, because they only know me superficially and its a personal thing. Still, since the way you act and look won't change too drastically, I would hope their reaction would be decent enough, worst case they'll be just as bored with you and move on to some other topic of interest

Yeah, its hard to really get started doing anything because... while there are a ton of resources they're not well advertised. Good luck with the writing! :D You probably won't get that many rejection slips. Just a lot of win slips.
