Reading this article in the Guardian about the ridiculous caricature of an Italian Prime Minister, who has for all intents and purposes been declared guilty of some serious financial corruption, but has in this term introduced a new law preventing himself from being prosecuted. I know what you mean.

On one hand I'm feeling its a little unfair of me for distrusting her for things her husband has done.

But on the other hand, she has placed herself in a position where she is in control of distributing a very large ammount of government money between many private companies, and happens to have a husband found guilty of facilitating laundering large ammounts of government money through a web of many private companies. That's quite a coincidence!
