Never did I think or consider that I’d drown in love. Was it even possible? Drowning in love basically means to suffocate, although not literally, because of the person you truly adore. Or to put it simply, to be out of breath because of the one you love. There is no definite meaning, only you could discover and understand it’s definition because it lies within one’s heart.
Too much love could make you happy, sad, could even make you suffer. And without realizing it, could drown you. The happy part comes only in the beginning. The sweetness of the kisses you share lasts only for a short while. The warmth you absorb from the hugs you two envelope yourselves into keep you warm, yes, but not for long. The bitter parts in a relationship would eventually come.
Jealously could lead to heated arguments. These petty fights would sooner or later result to cool offs. Or even break-ups. Without having knowledge of it, you’re there, inside the apartment the two of you shared. Panting, moaning, with matching sweat trickling down on both of your foreheads. Whispering sweet nothings into one another’s ears. Apologizing fot the mistakes done. Just now, realizing and taking note that the two of you just committed and discovered this so-called make-up sex. And of course, the wonders and pleasures it brings.
The next thing you know, the two of you are having another fight. This time, it’s a real break-up. A true and permanent break-up. Now it’s not sweat, but hot tears are falling from your eyes. Your heart ripping into uncountable pieces. You felt used, hurt, and most of all, angry.
And now, you finally know what drowning in love really mean. It comes in different forms right? Different from every person. As much as you wished your definition of it is the kind that your breath hitched because of his beauty. Unfortunately, it’s not. Your version is the one where you’re fed up already. You reflected this so called love of yours.
You compared it to a swim in a nice beach. You tested the water first by soaking your feet first; it’s when the two of you dated. You found the water nice and cool so you walked into the water until the water levels your waist, the waves hitting your body gently; When the two of you became official, a real couple. You had enough courage and you swam, swimming against the current. Who would’ve thought that swimming can make you feel so alive; Marriage happened, more excited things one by one started. You’re losing your energy and slowly, you’re taken away by the current and swallowed by the waves. You realized next, you were drowning; Too much misunderstandings and fights, which lead to divorce and separation. And that was your interpretation of drowning and it’s all because of powerful feeling called love.
