how do you grow?

I've been finally really really for real writing out the plans for my garden. I have drafts of various beds taped to the wall of my pantry now, and a final plan for Bed A. Two things I've done this year as part of planning for next year:

- put a time-lapse webcam anywhere I've thought of planting to see what the actual light pattern is over the course of a day or two. I was surprised at how little light the "bright" part of the garden gets and am going to plant the "pointless weed bed" instead next year.

- raised beds like mad. this probably won't do much for you, but it turns out some of the best spots for sun in our yard are parts of the parking pad where we don't/can't park.
