The different between talent and genius is in the application, Jacquie. That's all it is.

Not really, inasmuch as I suppose 'talent' and 'genius' might be differentiated by intensity. I guess one could say a genius is someone with more talent than even the talented (in whatever field you're discussing), but in the end, that's mostly up to application.

You can be talented at anything and never be noticed. You can't be a genius and live in seclusion. At least, that's how I see it, though in truth it's all pretty subjective. A lot of people have been called genius by some and hacks by others; who's the authority when it comes to genius and talent?
