Could a Rick Astley parody called "Never Should've Clicked That Link" be funny, or would the self-referential nature neuter all the humor?

Let's start with some basic questions: does humor exist in either Rick Rolling, Rick Astley, OR in parodies?
I've heard varying opinions on all of these.

Song parodies: often funny.
Rick Astley: not particularly funny.
Rick-rolling: Past the peak of funny. When Joel McHale is making rick-rolling jokes on "The Soup," your meme is overcooked.

Rick Astley seems to have a sense of humor about the whole rick-roll phenomenon, at least in the interview I read.
