Today a gunman - a 20 yr old man - killed 6 people and wounded several others.  His target was an Arizona politican.  Not long ago her opponents held a fund raiser.  The fundraiser - "Republican challenger Jesse Kelly held fundraisers where he urged supporters to help remove Giffords from office by joining him to shoot a fully loaded M-16 rifle. Please don't make this situation worse by making it political. There's quite enough of the 'us verses them' mentality out there without your 'connection' adding fuel to the fire. Republican/Democrat; Conservative/liberal; Jew/Gentile; Believer/Unbeliever - they're labels we'd be better off not using so frequently. We're people; we're Americans, and at this moment a lot of us are hurting.

Violence doesn't always beget violence. It's an individual choice. The twenty two year old suspected shooter made a horrendous choice yesterday. Let's not place blame for his despicable behavior so causally, and let us also hope and pray hate doesn't beget hate.

It's not about politics at all. It wouldn't matter who said it - it's what they said. It's about people who are public figures - in this case it's two Republicans (Kelly & Palin) who have chosen to make comments which IMO are irresponsible comments. As the Sheriff of Pima County AZ said - "This may be free speech," he told reporters, "but it's not without consequences."
