Very interesting Christmas this year.

The parentals actually surprised me by getting Linds and I some quite thoughtful presents this year. Usually they just buy whatever Linds and I pull off the shelf and hand to them, or give us cash, but this time Mom got creative. I've been drawing a bit lately and under the tree I found enough sketch books to last me to the end of time. Plus, she actually ran out and got me a set of combs to replace the one I was searching for the day before Christmas. That made me laugh. Much different from the usual strange surprise gifts of cute-sy nighties or stuffed animals that I have no place to store. I was shocked.

As for boxing day, well that was a bit traumatic. Got up at 4am to stand in line at Best Buy with Mom and Dad (Linds was comfy in her warm bed) and we didn't even win the door crasher prize, *sigh*. All for a $9.99 copy of Pirates of the Carribean 2 DVD and a laptop case that wasn't on sale. I swear the cash was moving so slow it took 30 min to clear 2 people. One guy just stood there demanding that they take more money off his bill. I think the three of us (me and the parentals) were about ready to strangle him and the cashier by the time they made him go to customer service and got the line moving again.

Man those crowds were insane. By the time we got out of Best Buy, Future Shop still had a line to get in, so we went out to Ajax instead later that afternoon hoping to avoid the lines (but surprise another line up at 12pm and I swear there was nothing left in there when we actually got in). Crazy crazy stuff out there...

Good food though this year. I am so stuffed I haven't even gotten around to attempting to bake. (Though I'm tempted to sneak over to Steph's house to steal one of those cakes, lol. They look so good!)

This has got to be the busiest holiday season ever. So my to do list is as follows:
1) Bake some form of dessert-like product.
2) Get online for some quality gaming. (Yes, yes...I'll make it my new year's resolution to try and get on MSN more often.)
3) Find time to play the games I've bought over the month of December.
4) Usual temp job updating filing system, and Study for my course downtown in 2 weeks. Also, gotta get off my lazy ass and grade more of those papers for my RA job.
5) Stock up on alcohol for New Years! (There's a bottle of Mint Chocolate Bailey's with my name on it.

If I'm still sane by the time the year's done I will be shocked. If I haven't lost my sanity already...

And in conclusion to this excessively long and pointless post: Happy holidays to all and try not to go insane dealing with family!
