It's rather curious to see where the reaffirmations of faith occur. I was walking down to the local lunch place, and the sky had cleared up from the early overcast clouds

I'm having so many more of those; in the past week, there's been at least once a day...that moment of Zen. I've always been happy with my life, and these just add more to that sense of happiness.
This one comes on the tail of some stuff from work and 1-2 things online, and so is just a reminder to myslf compare those moments of "crap" with just Zen.
Recently, a pal of mine realized that he had confused drama with passion and thus finally understood why he tended to cause drama in his life and, more to the point, having sorted out that confusion, he's managed to change any number of bad habits (and good for him!).
I thought that his perception of the situation was extremely apt and probably explains the (possibly unrealized) motives of many a drama queen.
Interesting realization. I often wonder the motivations & perceptions in drama queens. I can *almost* see the confusion of passion versus drama...sorta, Since, I am extremely passionate about a few things in my life, but there is very little drama in my life.
Although, I suspect there are many a drama queen who enjoy being drama queens.
I'm glad your friend has made those changes in his life.
I had someone i love dearly mistake my enthusiasm for lust or obsession... i had to point out to him that I am just as passionate about the swallows that nest on my porch, jane austen novels and titian paintings as i am bands... huh, it is always my love of bands that he gets upset about.
What a lovely moment! Thank you for spreading the joy.
I agree with you completely about people who seem to need to inject drama into their lives and those of others. My personal tagline recently has been "Everybody - including me: shut up and get the hell over yourselves!".
Amusing side note: just before going to read my friends page (and seeing your post) I posted my own little moment of Zen. It's a bit different than yours ;)
Heh. I have great moments of reaffirming life... I had one just last night in yoga class. However, my reaffirmation of *faith* is different, and I should post about that separately. TBA.
