New Travel Restrictions Regarding Batteries

FYI to all my fellow intrepid travellers!

Effective January 1, 2008, the following rules apply to the spare lithium batteries you carry with you in case the battery in a device runs low:

Between the ages of 13 and 39 I traveled all over the world. I'm glad I did it when I did because these rules are becoming absurd.
Methinks it is time to start road tripping.

My parents worked for United, which meant I was travelling around the world since I was pretty darn young. And, it's just gotten worse and worse, especially after 9-11.

I understand and see the need for security. However, I do think that a lot of their "restrictions" don't really do anything except make politians feel better and hassle regular people.

The main reason for most of this BS is to make people think that they're being proactive. It's absolutely asinine. And if you really want to take out a plane full of people, you will do it. Stupid bureaucracy.
