I don't know anything specifically, so I can't say what is going to happen exactly, but what I can say is that there will apparently be a lot of destruction here by magical forces.

I learned this from a prophet.

To be honest, I didn't expect the source to be what it was, but I don't take prophecies lightly. There is always a grain of truth to them and it's best to be prepared one way or the other.

I don't put much faith in prophecies myself, but there's little to lose from preparing for the possibility that it might be true.

Defending ourselves from magical forces will be difficult, though, especially without any details about what exactly those forces might be.

There are certain basic preparations one can take. Making your home into some sort of fortress that can weather harsh damage being one of them as well as making sure there are enough provisions and basic things such as that.

There's not much that we can do with so little information, I am aware, but a little knowledge is better than none.

I want to get Luca and Rachel somewhere safe, but since we don't know what sort of trouble this will be, the house is probably safest until we know what's going on.

I do have skills that will help in crisis situations, Colonel Curtiss. So do Negi and my brother.

Luke, well....from when he is from, he probably won't be of much help other than sword-fighting.

Do you? Negi's specialty is offensive spells. Both Ed and I are trained hand to hand, and we can take a lot of physical punishment, especially me.

Though we could make this place into some type of fortress, we couldn't open it to the public as a safehouse, and that may be what we need. It would be better to defend a more central location, like the Clinic, and then take our chances getting as many people to safety as possible.

I've been through natural disasters of all types here, as well as attacks. In all cases, a centralized effort does a lot more good.

If you're trained in hand to hand--Luke being trained in swordplay as well, then could I ask you to cover me if I am needed to use fonic artes?

I can also use a spear if you or your brother cannot cover me while I'm preparing a spell.

As for where to go...

I'm sure many will be fleeing to the Clinic as soon as anything starts to happen, I'm not sure I'll be needed there with so many. I'm not exactly a healer.

I don't particularly like the position I'm in where I am unsure of where things are and how the people work.
