Shut Your Face

I'm so tired of people.  I consider myself a people person.  I am friendly and I try to treat others as I would like to be treated.  The news is full of people who get their feelings hurt and want to make some big world-wide crying fest over it.  Call it making a statement, freedom of speech, whatever a person wants to call it.  The loud mouths are ( Read more... )

Belief oriented Socialism.. Nice

I was getting ready to post something about this in my own journal, but i'll include part of it here as well. Yesterday I got an email asking to donate towards my sons "Holiday Party". It stated that we should keep it "Holiday" as to not offend anyone. I see the irony in that, so I agreed to purchase the non-offensive napkins. Last night I picked up Christmas napkins, snowman napkins, and Hanukkah napkins, so the children can use whatever they feel like. I find this entire thing silly since the have no problem singing patriotic songs that may offend people. I personally feel like each person has the right to believe and follow whatever they want. I also feel like if they don't believe in God, they shouldn't care if we do, and visa-versa. Our founding fathers would be outraged about every aspect of our way of life though.

I agree that people shouldn't care if we believe because we aren't offended that they don't.  You're also right that our founding fathers would be outraged at a lot we do. I was just focused on my little tirade.  I wonder what Abraham Lincoln would think of Al Sharpton.

Hi there! I'd love to add you! I checked out your intro entry on your page and I loved it! I had to jot down all of the interesting things, lol... I hope you don't mind. Tombstone is my all-time favorite movie as well. You mentioned starting a book and not being able to finish it because of your convictions... that has happened to me more times than I can rememeber... it's good to know I'm not alone. :) Also, your comment about not being an English major cracked me up because I am one of those people who edit my entries for errors but no worries, it's just a personal habit, I won't commentt and suggest that you do the same to your entries. Finally, and I put this in quotes when I noted it, "Don't leave mad, just leave" really is a great way to go about handling people with too much drama in their lives. Anyway, I said all of that to say that I would be happy to have you on my friend's list... welcome. Thanks for the add!

"Don't leave mad, just leave" I guess I've reached a point in my life where I don't feel I need to justify my beliefs or decisions to anyone not directly associated with me IRL =) We live in such an offended world now & I don't subscribe to that. I look forward to getting to know you! Thanks for adding me back!
