To me, tl;dr means, "It was quite long for a topic I have no interest in, so I didn't read it." Not trying to be rude, but maybe your aunt didn't care what food you are making. Most people probably wouldn't unless you were feeding them. And as for the Olympics thing, that's the kind of thing you need to see for yourself. To have it described, no matter how detailed, just isn't the same and not nearly as interesting.
I can understand all that... The acronym just seems more like, "I clicked 'See More' and saw the length and decided not to read it." The small paragraph itself could have been about anything. It's more... dismissing something I was excited about. And then I realized that I do that to Adam a lot when he brings up something we already knew, so... I don't have much space to talk anyway.
And the thing is, Mom did search through all the official Olympics shots of the opening ceremony. She already had an idea about what I was describing. I was just putting it in motion for her.
I dunno... it's such a dumb thing, but it just bothered me this time.
