You are in my thoughts ... I don't know what else to say. It hurt me to read this so I know it must have been truly painful for you. But I am glad you found an opening.
We continued the conversation on Sunday, after he returned from CMU's TEDx conference. I can't understand why major conversations automatically come with the assumption that one person wants to break up. We're discussing things to ensure that doesn't happen, and yet a break-up was continually mentioned. We're not breaking up, of course. I think I just caught him off guard and that was his logical assumption. We became more affectionate that weekend, but it will be a slow process to figure out what changed and how to fix it. In the end, that's the only beneficial outcome to a conversation like that: working on it. I hope that once the days become longer and winter turns into spring, Mike won't be affected by SADD anymore--it's been a major contributing factor to all of this. But sometimes... you just can't rely on that as an excuse.
