I vacillate so constantly.

Coffee date yesterday was interesting. This was the Berkeley graduate who likes to talk about literature. From his profile, I kind of thought he sounded pompous and arrogant, so it was really surprising to find out that he seemed painfully shy. I mean, to the point where I was the calm one leading the conversation, and that never happens. He spoke really hesitantly and avoided looking directly at me. He was an English major, so we had a fair amount to talk about. He works teaching disadvantaged kids at a non-profit in Richmond and is really passionate about it, which is swoon-worthy, and he seems really smart. He seems like a great guy, but if the debilitating shyness doesn't let up, dates are going to be very awkward. We'll see if he wants to repeat it and if I can get him to come out of his shell a bit more.  It's TOTALLY WEIRD to be the more confident one, though.
Two more guys have messaged me, but they're both in their early 30s. I don't want to be ageist, but I also am really more interested in 20s guys, so I can't decide what to do. Maybe I'll talk to them online and see what they're like. I'm also still talking with the Berkeley grad student and a guy who seems pretty interesting, but has the exact same name and height as my ex, which is a little weird, Both of these could be promising, but we'll see.
Work continues to be boring. Grad schools continue to not contact me yet. I've started dieting in earnest and have lost a pound (except my shitty walgreen's scale gave me two different numbers, so this could be false. But I prefer to believe the number where I've lost a pound). Fat-free blueberry crumpets are my friend. I am learning to like green tea. My stomach almost made me pass out today, which is very annoying. I have had the Cocteau Twins on repeat for the past four days and am now starting to modulate it with Yo La Tengo. I saw A Serious Man on Sunday and adored it. Everyone should go see it right now, especially if you like the Coen brothers.
