BTW, I like your tag: "a surprising lack of actual slash" because that is exactly what I was thinking. ;) Poor boys didn't even get to the canoodling after all that.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was a definite challenge for me, but I enjoyed it, so I thank you. And, yes, I have that tag for stories just like this; most of what I write is slash so I have a tag for things that lack it.

Huh...

I don't know if it's worse John was right (sort of), or if he had been wrong and still done that to his kids....Both are horrible.

Great job. The end was a surprise. I wasn't expecting Sam to do that (the powers weren't a surprise, but the black eyes and the laughing aren't good...). I hope things between Sam and Dean will be okay.

John was wrong about Sam being the YED, for sure. As far as I figure it, Sam tapped into his dormant demon powers under extreme duress and barbecued the place. John deserved it, not that Dean will ever fully believe that.

I absolutely agree an the graphics. And I for one would enjoy if you wrote more in this genre! :)
