I agree. I really don't see why enough people didn't watch it to get it cancelled. Maybe it would've done better in a different time slot or something, and they never really did give it enough time... But I guess that's what you get from UPN. It did well in Britain though.
Border's sells the whole set for a pretty decent price, though you could probably find it cheaper online somewhere. But I guess it depends on how often you can watch 13 episodes over and over... Maybe after the movie. Do the DVDs have the original pilot that was supposed to air in the beginning?
I actually hadn't even heard of the show until someone I used to play FFXI with told me about it. (I don't get UPN, I had heard it came on FOX though... regardless, I hadn't ever heard of it). Yeah, the DVDs have the original pilot. I don't know what the heck they were thinking, skipping the pilot episode and all. Anyway, the video store down the street from me has the boxset, and I've rented 3/4ths of it. It's a good series, and this is from someone who doesn't usually like TV sci-fi stuff. Almost like a live action version of Trigun.
I've never thought of it that way, but you're right, it is. Maybe that's what attracted me to Trigun in the first place. (Which reminds me...I have to read the manga...)

Lucky. I should see if any of the local stores 'round here have it. I want to see it again, but I don't want to pay for the box set just yet.
Well, it's on the Space channel (Canadian version of Sci-Fi) after Stargate SG-1, so I usually just catch about two seconds, and then turn it off, laughing at it as another quickly cancelled Sci-Fi show. That being said, from what the trailer shows, it looks good. I'm keeping my eye on this one...
It was quickly cancelled because Americans wouldn't know a good TV show if it danced in front of them wearing nothing but Dobby's tea cozy. Most network TV shows tend to be absolutely horrid creations, though there is the odd good one every once in a while. It was a good show, quirky, but a successful mix of varied characters. Unfortunately, no one watched the thing.
That being said, from what the trailer shows, it looks good.
It does, doesn't it? A lot of the show was about the mystery of River. They found her in a box, in stasis, IIRC. She behaves oddly, she says strange things, and she knows things. A bit like Luna Lovegood, actually, now that I think of it. Anyways, it'll be interesting to see what they do with her.

Man, I had no idea that anyone but me had even heard of Firefly.... great series that really got the shaft, IMHO. I really need to rent the last DVD.
