What a night. Where to begin....
Well the evening started off well enough. I made a dramatic entrance as usual. My leather trousers were perfectly snug and I do believe Remus drooled on himself at the sight of the black mesh shirt I was wearing. He looked delicious as always, the outfit he was wearing made him look like a romantic hero... but I digress. The evening ended so badly, I'm not sure if he's talking to me anyway. Onwards.
Harry and his friends looked as if they were having a fairly good time, if a bit awkward. Normal for their age, I suppose. I knew it was all going too smoothly. Especially since one of the Weasley twins was in attendance. I should have known better than to drink any punch. But again, I'm getting ahead of myself.
I finally did ask Remus to dance. Everyone must know we are involved by now, so I thought, why can I not dance with my boyfriend? Remus seemed a bit flustered but he said yes. Minerva looked quite disapproving, the old prude, and a few of the students stared, but all in all I think that part, at least, was a success. I do love holding Remus in my arms. His body against mine does such things to me... but, yes, must keep this reasonably clean. The dance ended, and I convinced him to dance one more with me. I must have been distracted still by his closeness... as Remus excused himself to speak to someone, I felt a bit thirsty and had a glass of punch. The evening went quite downhill from there.
I stood by the punch table and had a look around the room. Who do I spy, skulking around in a corner with Hooch and Sinistra, but our greasy Potions master himself. He always looks as if he is up to no good, but this time he looked particularly furtive. I couldn't help but drift over there. I hadn't teased the slimy git for some time. I really should learn to control my impulses occasionally. But as soon as I saw they were passing some sort of flask around... I couldn't help myself. I drained my punch and went right over.
As I got closer, I could see that the three of them were... drunk! I could detect the odor of some sort of hard liquor from ten paces. Of course, I couldn't contain my indignace. I do believe I made a few well-placed remarks about him being so pathetic as to not have a date and his spending the evening sitting around getting drunk with the other old ladies... well, I have never seen Snape flush like that! He was quite obviously well on the way to getting completely hammered. He could barely rise to my repartee. In fact, he tried to walk away! I say tried, because he seemed to have some problems putting one foot in front of the other. So Snape proceeded to trip! The clumsy man fell right into me! Of course, being the kind person I am, I tried to help catch him... that's when the real trouble began.
The blasted punch had a potion in it. One that causes people to stick together. And of all people, who is the last person I would want to get stuck to? You guessed it. I tried to help the clumsy idiot, and for my efforts I get stuck to Snape. Quite stuck. As in, his chest to my chest, my hands to his hands, one foot stuck together. Which meant, of course, that we fell to the floor. I ended up on top, of course. Which meant that our lower bodies got stuck together as well... So there we were, rolling about on the floor in some grotesque parody of sex... Snape wailing the whole time how it was my fault, me trying to calm him before he hurt me. I managed to get his arms pinned to floor above his head. Of course, this made it look all the worse...and of course, this was the time Remus chose to arrive. The look on his face...
I tried to explain! The effects of the potion were already starting to wear off, and in the background I could see other people were similarly affected. Snape and I managed to get untangled eventually, but Remus just seemed to get angrier and angrier. Of course, by now Snape was laughing delightedly at my predicament... Remus stormed out, and I followed him, still trying to make amends.
We went out in the courtyard. Remus at first wouldn't even listen! But I explained about the potion... I think he was finally starting to see reason. I know he can't stay mad at me for long... We were just progressing nicely when we were... interrupted by a loud commotion. We rushed out of the bushes to see Harry and Draco fighting again. They were rolling around in the grass, and someone was bleeding, I couldn't tell who. Remus and I waded in and tried to pull them apart. It became obvious, however, that one of them had drank some punch, because the two of them were quite solidly stuck together. And still trying to kill each other. Remus sat on ferret boy, and I tried to hold onto Harry. Finally, the potion started to wear off. We tried to get the truth out of them; but Malfoy kept spouting some tale about how he was minding his own business when Harry attacked him, and Harry wouldn't speak at all. We were getting nowhere when Minerva finally arrived. They wouldn't tell her either, though, and she just docked everyone points and ended the ball. I am shocked by Harry's behaviour. Lowering himself to the level of a Malfoy. We will be having a long talk later, you can be sure of that.
So that was the ball; another one to remember. I need a drink. And not punch.
