Harry and I spent a very nice day together on Sunday. He needed new dress robes for the Ball. He's certainly grown this year. So that was a nice excuse to go into Hogsmeade. The fitting went well; the robes will be ready for Saturday night. Then we had lunch at the Three Broomsticks.

We talked and talked; it was really the first time we have had a chance to interact away from the school, as godfather/godson and not teacher/student. We talked about his classes, and the ball, and his classmates. I am pleased that he finally asked someone to the ball, even if he insists they are only friends. I feel I am not the best person to advise him of these things but... since I am the only father figure in Harry's life, it falls to me, however uncomfortable. I am not sure I've quite recovered (note to self: ask Dumbledore why sixth years have not yet had sex education class).

I am loathe to bring up my relationship with Remus... I hope it doesn't make Harry uncomfortable. I hope he will come to me if he has any problems.

Then we went flying together! It has been ages since I've been on a broomstick but it comes back quickly. I used to be a rather good Quidditch player myself. Nowhere near as good as Harry, of course... the boy looks like he was born on a broomstick. Just like his father.

I am very proud of Harry and how well he is coping with the pressure the greasy git is putting on him. Snape's unfair policies continue to rankle me. But since he seems to have Albus convinced, there is nothing I can do. Harry is strong. He will prevail.

I look forward to the ball this Saturday; it should prove interesting.
