For anyone interested, the Final Fantasy XIV open beta is scheduled to start soon (it was supposed to be today, but there were "critical bugs" that forced SE to delay it). I tried, the launcher that starts up downloading the rest of the client literally won't run for me. Get a console box and then it freezes and crashes.

Maybe this is the 'critical bug' as it got a lot of google results.

actually if you get it going a little you can dig in the folders for the torrent files and use a real torrent program. it works much much faster

I WISH my problem was that it wasn't downloading. I could fix that.

Not actually being able to run the program however is... :|

Edit: Got a lead on my problem with the game, but can you tell me how to update the drivers for my graphics card?

Give that a shot. You want the top link, the 46 meg download. I had to update mine, and so did Sara, so it's not horribly surprising.
