As an embroidery digitizer I've always been amazed at what can be done with ink. I would love the opportunity to work with you on a mixed-media project. Imagine the art above with the tree parts being embroidered? Can you say "Stand out off the material"? Of course, I'd also be very interested in a sharing of technique and information. End result would rock, I guarantee!
Best example of print-embroidery that I've experienced was a shirt I got in Brasil (yes, that's how it's supposed to be spelled). Printed across it was a rainforest scene, all greens, browns and stuff like that. Then, embroidered in different poses of flight were some Macaw parrots, about four of them across the front. Not terribly big, but colorful. They stood out like they were way in front. Then embroidered across was the nice Portuguese phrase "Preserve A Vida", all in different colors also.
I think the right approach could top that easily. Contemplate and get back to me if you can.
