Remember the 5th of November...

So I finally saw "V for Vendetta" with Johnny. We both really loved this movie. It was about this guy who was seeking revenge using a Guy Fawkes Mask, V, due a government conspiracy. Basically, the Chancellor gained a ton of power by creating a virus and finding a cure through the blood of V. He kills all the people from the facility that polluted Great Britain with the virus and gained power afterwards. Then he asks a ton of people to come out and witness the destruction of Parliament on the next Guy Fawkes Day as a symbol that the people need to take control of their government. It makes me wonder if this could ever happen if the wrong person came into office. Have some scientist create the perfect virus and test it on a bunch of unsuspecting human beings. Everyone ends up dying but one person, whose body can mutate and produce the antigen. You take that person's blood and you hide the cure. Then you release the virus into the water supply of some major country. A ton of people are infected, so you pretend to look for a cure. You find one, but people are so scared because the government tells you it's a terrorist plot. Then a cure is found, but the government has supreme power now. All the people were so afraid of terrorists, so everything is monitored. All of a sudden religion is central to your society and so homosexuals and anyone who is deviant from the norm are shoved in detention facilities. It's like 1984 only much more disturbing and possible. Look at the way Bush has taken control of America. What if he went a step further? I love this movie, because it's a comic book. It doesn't have as much unreliastic traits as X-Men or Spiderman. It is actually possible.
