Shawn closed the door behind him. He could still feel Juliet's lips pressed against his own. The image of Declan holding Juliet, kissing her cheek, burned in his mind. He started to follow Gus to his car but stopped after a few steps. He looked back at Declan's mansion.
“Shawn, hurry up. I want to make it back in time to catch the season finale of Project Runway.”
“Jules kissed me.”
Gus turned back to look at him. “What?”
“Juliet kissed me. Right there, in Declan's living room, with his huge stupid portrait staring down.”
“Shawn, stop it. Juliet did not kiss you. Why would she? Especially in Declan's house.”
“She just did, I'm not lying, not about this. I was telling her to have an amazing time, and to take pictures, and keep the memories in her heart and she kissed me!” Shawn ran his hands over his head in frustration. He stopped and turned to Gus.
“We need a plan.”
“Oh no, there is no we. I am not getting involved.” Gus turned back to his car.
“Gus, please! We don't have a lot of time, and you have to help, otherwise, I'll go off half cocked with some crazy scheme that will probably blow up in my face and max out one or more of your credit cards,” Shawn followed Gus to the car, staring at him over the top.
Gus thought for a few seconds. “Wait, when did you get my credit cards again? I canceled them and ordered new ones.”
“Remember you thought you lost your wallet? I copied down all the info first from the new cards before giving it back to you,” Shawn got in the car.
Gus stared blankly. “Probably should have guessed that,” he mumbled to himself as he got in the driver's side.
“So here's my plan. I use your credit cards to book first class seats on the next flight to the Almalfi Coast in Italy and also get the best suites available at the same hotel they are staying at.” Shawn took out his phone and starting typing.
Grabbing Shawn's phone, Gus stared at him.
“What? It's a perfect, easy, and albeit expensive for your credit cards, plan.” Shawn reached for his phone.
“First of all, Declan probably charters private planes, or owns his own with the amount of obscene money he has. Second, he just bought the hotel because it was completely booked, so he'll either have the best suites reserved already or he'll just close the entire place for their two week vacation.”
Shawn deflated into the seat. “See, man, this why I need your help. So what do we do?”
“I don't think we need to do anything,” Gus nodded to someone outside Shawn's side of the car.
“What? Of course we have to do something! I can't lose her, Gus,” Shawn pleaded. Someone tapped on his window.
Shawn turned to find Juliet standing outside the car, tears streaked her face but smiling at him.
