Cad converters on car need to be replaced. Not covered under warranty. Car undriveable. Law says car needs to have them. Going to cost $2000.

Is that something that could be scored from a junk yard, or is it illegal to reuse such a thing?

it is indeed illegal to reuse them. it IS however required that car manufacturers warranty them until 80,000 miles. my car is at 81500. i did find a guy willing to do it alot cheaper today. so that's good.
