I am tempted.

2001 VW Jetta with 17000 miles on it power sunroof, 6 cd changer, alloy wheels. Dark Blue, black leather interior. $11,700
Even takes regular gas and drives quite well.
I just worry about the repair bills. Thoughts?

Or do I hold out and go for a subaru legacy/outback of some sort. Decisions decisions.

I haven't found an accord that's called to me. Nothing in my price range anyways. Actually I don't think i've managed to test drive a sedan accord yet. Just haven't come across one at a dealership yet (and i've been to a honda dealership).

You've reminded me to look at another dealership, which I will probably do this evening. Just checked their inventory and there are some good looking accords on there, so we'll see.

How is the Accord for long distance driving seat comfort wise? I know it's capable of necessary velocity. Test drove a couple accords and camrys today. Accords are much better than similarly yeared camrys. Accord is in my top picks for the next allenmobile.

That's a good price, methinks. I don't see why you're so worried about repairs, unless perhaps it's because of some misguided notion that Hondas are "reliable".

Jettas are too small for me, but then again I like big. But I'm not the one shopping for a car ;)

The repair costs for VWs are coming down all the time, I think. It's probably less expensive to repair one in an area like this than say, Blacksburg, or, where I'm from. It's all about general maintenance and upkeep with VWs--same for Hondas. Keeps them out of bank breaking repairs in my experience, but still manages to cost a pretty penny along the way.
