Finally got around to playing with perl. And I have to say i'm liking it thus far. I'm sure I'll find something i hate about it soon but for now it's nifty.

I need to write a grunt program to parse some large files. It doesn't need to be pretty it needs to be written.

Yeah this is not a big project, it is however one that would have taken me about 10 times as long to write in c++, or at least been 10 times as irritatig to write. or I can write it in perl and let regular expressions do all the work for me. I never plan to use the code again, so I really don't give a shit if it's readable.

Also readability depends on how you write the program, you can write some pretty unreadable c too.
