My idea for how to make the rest of Lost awesome

Lost has a few great things going for it--and a few real problems. Sweety and I realized that we enjoyed this episode extra-much for a few good reasons: more Miles, no Kate.

Miles is a miserably underused character, especially when you consider that Ken Leung does such a great job with him. Miles has as many dramatic pauses as anybody, but I never see "Look, Mom! I'm ACTING!" on his face. Nor does he space out in "gosh, but I'm pretty" close-ups. He's not the best-looking person on the show, but I never get tired of looking at him--partly because I never feel like Leung is doing double-duty as a cover model while he's supposed to be showing us a character.

Miles is greedy and can be cold. He could be a really repugnant character; I initially liked him only because he was funny. Some of last season's storyline made him more sympathetic, though. I really wish Miles had more to do this season instead of just tagging along and being psychic CSI.

And then there's Kate. My favorite recent Kate moment is watching her burst into tears when Sawyer says he was going to propose to the late Juliet. When he threw the engagement ring into the ocean, Kate's crumpled face bore a look not of sympathy, but of feeling wronged. I almost heard her say, "He didn't offer it to meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

So I have a great idea: Let's just drop the love triangle that already strangled most of a season. Nobody liked it. Sawyer and Jack are more interesting without it, and Kate's not interesting anyway.

Let's take the rest of Kate's remaining plot and give it to Miles.
