Recently I did a baby blanket with granny squares. I thought I might use the strands at the end to weave the squares together. However, they were sticking out at the corners and some were not long enough. I think with proper planning, you could use a needle to make the outside string end up at a corner, but make sure you have at least 12 inches.

The alternative is to weave in the strands at the end of completing a square, then weaving in the strands of two more squares before starting the next square, so by the time you get to your last square, the weaving of the ends is not such a daunting task. Think baby steps.

And actually, I quite like weaving in the strands at the center because it closes up the hole, if it is that type of granny square.

Want to come over? We could have a weaving-in party!

I was so unenthused by the prospect of putting this together that I started making a different afghan for a different baby. This time, though, I'm just altering a scarf pattern. Rows, baby! Rows!
