But I love Tom's fennel-flavoured toothpaste, love love love it. I don't really like the taste of mint, so I have to make special efforts to get non-minty toothpastes and mouthwashes. I think it's great that you're using products only when you need them. Probably a lot of the chemicals that the water company is trying to remove are there because people believe that they *have* to wear perfume and hair product and lotion and blah blah blah every single day. I'm not a paragon of eco-friendly beauty, but my skin has been a lot happier since I started saying, "Okay. Is my skin dry? Does it need lotion today?" instead of just going with a routine.
Good to hear a thumbs-up about one of the Tom's toothpastes. We have a ton of grownup toothpaste to work through, but I'll pick some Tom's kiddie toothpaste up for the kids and see how they like using dental care with a smaller carbon footprint.

If you're really going to write a bunch of green product reviews, have you considered trying to publish them? I know a few places that might like the content (TriplePundit, TreeHugger, Grist, etc).

I can completely relate to your plight - since I started trying to get pregnant, I've purged my skincare routine of all toxic badness and replaced it with eco-friendly substitutes. Some of them are great, but some are definitely lacking (Maybelline Full N' Soft Mascara, how I miss you...). Sigh.

The deodorant is okay for days when you're around the house or something, as long as you can scrub out your pits with alcohol later. Ugh. But if it's unopened, maybe you can give it to charity? Someone at a shelter would prefer it to nothing, I'm sure.
