Friday Weather: Cold and sunny again (hoorah!) Enjoying it before the weather turns tomorrow

1. After over a year of reasonable service, our washing machine refused to turn on last night. No warning, no drama, just...nothing. We checked the plug and even changed the fuse in it, but still. Nothing. Luckily we bought it from John Lewis, specifically because they give a 2 year guarantee, which is feeling like a very wise decision at this

Did you try the filter? I just had to clean out our washing machine's drain filter to get the machine to run again, so that's what comes to mind at the moment. (It's a task I hadn't had to do till I had this house, and it sure is disgusting!)
