*HUG* I'm happy for you that you're able to talk about it. I wouldn't be any less happy if you couldn't, really, I'm just glad you're able to cope however you're coping.

I don't think supernatural setting would turn me off, especially if the rest was fun, but...Elizabeth has magical ability potential? Oh dear no.

Eh, more like she's a bit psychic. She doesn't really use it for anything in the next two books and the fourth book's mystery ends up being completely mundane.

I guess its partly my fault for coming in with too much of an expectation for the good ol fashioned british mystery where at the end everyone gathers in the drawing room and the events are explained one by one until the detective announces who the murderer is. Still, when you establish that magic exists then you can blame everything on magic and that makes solving a mystery by logic mootish
