Mike, you're very uncreative.

Because they'd be afraid that they'd get back together.
Because that other person is such a danger to their emotional health that they have to to preserve any of themself.
Because they became so thoroughly disgusted with the person that the thought of them is physically repulsive.
Because for some people their relationship fell apart for the same reason that a friendship would fall apart.
Because every single instance of "just friends" that they've viewed hasn't worked.

You talk of people being closed-minded to friends after love, but you are closed minded to the reasons why friends after love might not be a good idea.

Also, the entry was made to reflect my awareness of other peoples' misfortunes and/or drastic changes relationship-wise, both recent and deep into the past, and my attempt to understand more personally and fully what they're going through, and relate it to instances in my past similar to those.
