I have *just* figured out why people saying "you can't read stuff and claim to be an expert" bothers me!!! .... and so I'm awake at the ass-crack of dawn to write it down before I forget

Those people are just projecting. They are so closed-minded that THEY can't learn by reading anything that conflicts with their already-concrete opinions, so they assume that you also cannot learn by reading. It's a shame, but not a surprise.

And I totally get avoiding FB on it. I got mocked for posting a video about doctors who back up the same malaria medication that Trump was talking about. It was a conservative talking point video, not an "actual study." And I was a moron for not knowing the difference. ;) But that same person would likely not have read the actual study anyway, since the name of the studies the video was based upon were mentioned, and he certainly never looked them up to see that they were available to read. He just wanted someone to make fun of. It's pretty standard, lately.

My favourite bit is idiots calling people idiots, when it's clear who the real idiots are... it's like some strange, fictional world where people are so dumb they can only badly compare what's going on to things that have already happened... I take that back. It's very real, and very stupid when idiots are convinced that people who do know what they are talking about are the idiots. So surreal...
