Note that all dates will follow the EST timezone, so make sure to check at what time it aplies for you! Once the check-ins arrive, the mods will send out an email asking for updates/comments and writer's drafts (they don't have to be pretty drafts, we just want to make sure you have something!) The check-ins are to help ensure authors meet their final deadline and - in the event someone is unable to finish - to give pinch hitters enough time to start writing a story. Writers are expected to have written 500 words by the first check-in, 1000 words by the second one. If for some reason you're unable to meet those deadlines, please let a mod know! Timely, mods will sent out emails with check-in info and guidelines, so look out for those!
