Just so's you know, I've been following this, both at LC and here. I have so enjoyed it! Love the culture conflicts and lovelorn Thranduil!

Thank you! I've been planning to write this thing for several years now, and wondering how well I could pull of the drunken male bonding. It's a relief to finally have it outside my head, and I hope it worked.

What an excellent ending - of course they would agree to be as rude as possible about each other...

I'll confess, I even made myself laugh with the "Bastard" Prick!" exchange. I hope that's okay to admit.

Thank you!

Love it, though the whole bearded dwarf women debate always makes me cringe (so does the hobbit foot hair thing). The last scene inside the caves was a great finish; we can generally assume that the general population will resent and resist change in any way they feel is necessary, until they're shown that acceptance and doing things differently won't destroy the world. If they only knew what they'd just laid precedent for in another age or so...

Heh, you think that's bad, try the whole Elven body-hair debate. LOL

Jael, you know already (I hope) how much I love this story, so I apologize for my lack of comments so far - I just wanted to say:,this is a perfect ending to a lovely story, and we'll be sure to keep Thranduil's big secret for him in the face of all coming generations of Elves and Dwarves. ;P

Well done!

I left this over Christmas to give myself something to look forward to - and it was worth it. Thanks!
