Unity in Abraham; diversity the rest of the way

As I've tried to go on an ecumenical journey in my mind, and at least acknowledge the common cultural inheritances that the major religions share; the keystone as far as I could tell would be the patriarch Abraham. Scripture does paint some pretty terrible pictures of women. Perhaps because the penholders of the Scriptures were men, they realized more than their female counterparts could the influence that an evil, seductive women can have on the most righteous of men. However, it seems that when men fail and sin God punishes the man directly.

However, there are some great matriarchs of Scripture. Mary, whose legacy has become borderline heresy, Ruth, Ester, and the awesome Deborah, clearly show that though man was created first, women are more than capable of taking the reigns.
