It occurs to me that retarded cockroaches must be what we are if we have in our years of sentience only run into the the lamp of the moon, gotten the rover over to Mars, and de-planetized pluto. that although we have heavily fruited and multiplied, knowledge grows among us at a much lower scale. the discoveries of some have allowed the survival of many, an intellectual inverted pyramid which is starting to sway. that humankind does not destroy the earth, we destroy our chances of living on it.
combined with the realization that i have no investment in the future of humanity, and that i sincerely believe that we need a bit of catastrophe to spice us up. the proverbial forest fire enriching the ground for new growth. not that i really want to deal with it in MY lifetime (:
