Well, I don't know much about either, but it seems like there are patterns. Opening moves, strategies, and the beginning of the game looks much the same, until a piece (peace) is threatened. Then, you must retreat, advance, or sacrifice for the sake of strategy ( Read more... )

Unfortunately I'm sceptical that we will ever be economically independent of foreign countries. Even given a development reducing the need for oil for transportation, we still use plastic and other oil biproducts in too many facets of everyday life to cut them out completely.

I do agree, however, with our withdrawl. The government has disposed a dictator and delivered political control to the Iraqi people. At this point, it is their responsability to use their sovereignty and manage their nation. The troops occupying Iraq are the target of violence, which endangers the civilians as well. In my opinion, our government should leave the governing and defense of the nation to the Iraqi people unless asked to intervene.
