It comes with it's costs, but yes, it was fantastic to see all his teachers gushing his praises, I was speechless and so so very proud of him :-)

Might be better that way. We had our younger son being told just after he started at secondary school that he'd achieved the highest score ever on some assessment they did, and since then, he's done as little work as he can get away with. He got fair GCSE results, but could have done much better. We're trying to persuade him to put in some work for his A levels, but so far, we're not having much success. His aim is to get 'good enough' results - whatever that means.

It must be so frustrating for you, I have the same with minijc1 her results although good are not what they could be. As I keep telling them, you may have a ferrari for a brain but if they only go 30 miles an hour a skoda may get there first ...

As much as it pains me to say, he is a mini Mckay, with all the social graces of his first sg1 appearances ...

Only too well.

funny when C was 6 her teachers told me she was so bright she could be a rocket scientist.

to which i said, it was more likely that she would make the bomb that blew us all to kingdom come.

I hope so, all his teachers commented on his lack of confidence even though he is top of the class, and I worry what his perfectionism and hard self critique becomes self destructive.
But for the moment I'm still on cloud nine, lol
