CAN$600? With a case? If so, pretty fair price. Near-new ones pop up on eBay for US$500-600, but usually with a gig bag.

wow that thing is sharp! I had a blue jag, it was japanese and a load of crap. lUckily I sold it for $70 more than I paid for it. cha-ching!

'94 is also Japanese by definition (no US-made Jags between 1975 and 1999).

There was certainly a quality slump in the Japanese ones around 1990 - the early 1986-late 80s ones are very good, and the mid-90s-to-current ones ('crafted in Japan') are also pretty darn good (except the pickups). But I had a 1990-ish 'made in Japan' Jag and it was indeed quite shonk.
